House rental for the 2027 total solar eclipse in Cádiz: Villa La Barrosa, 31 July to 7 August

On Monday 2 August 2027 a total solar eclipse sweeps across southern Spain and the Cádiz coast lies inside the path of totality. Villa La Barrosa is in Sancti Petri (Chiclana de la Frontera), right inside that path: you watch the eclipse from the garden, with no driving, no hunting for a spot and no crowds around you.

We rent the whole house for eclipse week, Saturday 31 July to Saturday 7 August 2027, to a family or group of up to 6.

What you'll see from the garden

Official times from Spain's National Geographic Institute for Chiclana de la Frontera:

  • 09:40 — the partial eclipse begins.
  • 10:45:06 — totality begins: night falls, the brightest stars come out and the solar corona is visible to the naked eye.
  • 10:46:50 — maximum eclipse.
  • 10:48:34 — totality ends. 3 minutes and 28 seconds of total darkness.

It happens mid-morning, in the middle of August, with the sun already high over the Atlantic.

Price and booking

€12,900 for the whole week, from Saturday 31 July (check-in from 5:00 pm) to Saturday 7 August 2027 (check-out by 10:30 am). That is the total price for the house: cleaning, bed linen and towels, water, electricity and air conditioning included, no platform fees.

Nobody can guarantee the weather on a given day, but August on the Cádiz coast is one of the driest and sunniest months of the year, and clear skies are the norm. The eclipse is also mid-morning, with the sun already high.

Can I book just the eclipse day or fewer nights?
No. That week is rented as a whole, Saturday to Saturday. You arrive for the weekend at your own pace, watch the eclipse on Monday and have the rest of the week for the beach and the Costa de la Luz.
How do I book?
Directly with the owner. A bank transfer of 50% (€6,450) secures the week and the rest is paid on arrival. Check-in is from 5:00 pm on Saturday and check-out by 10:30 am the following Saturday.
How do I get there?
The nearest airport is Jerez, about 35 minutes by car; Seville is just over an hour away on the AP-4. The house appears as "Villa La Barrosa" on Google Maps and Waze, and has parking inside the plot for up to four cars.
